Life has a way of weighing on us through the tragedies of death, disease, and loss. Many feel the great burdens of unemployment and insecurity. In time all of mankind feel the great weights of living placed upon our shoulders and at times the great terror of being unable to bare the burden becomes overwhelming.
In my life when the challenges and trials of living seem too much, or weigh heavy on my mind and soul I am reminded of the comforting words of the Savior, Jesus Christ, “I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.” and also “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” [John 14]
Not only has the Lord and His teaching brought great comfort to my life, but He has also offered the peace that comes from the Comforter, or the Holy Ghost [John 14:26]. The Holy Ghost brings great peace into my life and joy as it teaches and reminds me of the powerful actions of Christ’s Atonement.
